How can the builder protect himself from this?
Lawyers recommend to visit a building project by an expert approx. 10 - 20 times, to document the building progress and to compare it with the building description. Depending upon expenditure costs of 3 - 5% of the building sum result. The fee is certainly well spent, defects are discovered early and prevented. My experience is that quality control during construction leads to more careful work by the craftsmen.
