Cypriot taverna meets fine dining

Taverns & Restaurants

Cypriot taverna meets fine dining. Cypriot cuisine consists of a variation of different dips, fresh salads, different vegetables and various meats. Typical Cypriot food is the meze. Why meze? Cypriots are good hosts and want every guest to be satisfied. The meze consists of a selection of about 20 typical dishes.

Those who like fish will also get their money's worth here. In some tavernas/ ouzeris you can also put together your own personal meze.

The cuisine in the numerous 4 and 5 star hotels does not need to shy away from international comparison.

Tavernas & restaurants abound. Have fun trying them out!

Wineries

Cyprus has a long tradition of wine growing and is one of the oldest wine producing areas in the world.  You can discover the wineries along the 7 designated wine routes.

Wine tasting (usually for a small fee) is obligatory.

The winemaker will be happy to share his or her experiences and answer your questions. Some wineries offer traditional food, usually by appointment only. A good opportunity to combine the local wine with typical local dishes.
